Our manufacturing plant is based in Penang, Malaysia. Anka Tackle was established in 1981. We started based on Australian rod manufacturing technology and through the years, Japanese and American technologies were also introduced. We have a very experienced production workforce of about 80, most of them with more than 10 years of experience. We pride ourselves as a "boutique" rod manufacturer, making specialty rods for niche markets. Our specialty lies in Big-Game rods, Boat rods, Solid-Tip rods, Surf-Casting rods & Fly rods. As a specialty rod manufacturer, each rod is individually crafted and finished to the best quality. As such, we do not impose on a high minimum order quantity, an advantage that few rod manufacturers can offer. Also, quality is not compromised in our production; each rod would have been put through several QC tests before being packed for delivery. By implementing the Six Sigma methodology, our quality control definitely surpasses the industry's standards. The fishing rod division also manufactures other composite products used for aerospace, telecommunication and infrastructure purposes. This proves that our technology and quality are accepted in industries with extremely stringent expectations. Besides fishing rods and composite products, Anka Tackle also extrudes monofilament nylon fishing lines. Japanese and Korean technologies are employed in the manufacturing of fishing lines. And only the best grade of raw materials is selected. Not many people would know us, because we do not put our name on our products. But we are glad to know that our rods have been the choices of many professional anglers and also made it to the IGFA records.
